What is Burns and Post Burn Corrections ?
Burns can be caused by hot water or liquids, fire or accidents.
Immediate Burn Care is done by Plastic Surgeons, wherein the wounds are cleaned and specialised burn dressings are applied to reduce pain.
Post Burn Corrections are done after recovery from burns to correct any deformities, scars, movement restrictions and problems caused by the burns.

Preparation
Once you have chosen to go ahead with the procedure, Dr Suhas will advise you a few blood tests etc to ensure that you are indeed in good health otherwise.

Immediate Burn Surgery is done mainly to make the wounds heal as quickly and safely as possible.
The surgery is done under General Anesthesia, during which artificial skin, skin substitutes or skin graft from their own body is used to cover the wounds of the burns so that it heals.
Sometimes if the area is big, it may require multiple/additional procedures to heal it.
Usually if burns is over 20% total body area that is considered major which requires hospital admission and if more than 30% is considered life threatening.
Once a patient has recovered from burns, they may have scars or tightness in some areas or similar issues, which may entail further procedures to remedy them.

- The patients will need few days to recuperate from the injury.
