What is Breast Lift ?
Over time, with ageing and pregnancy, a woman’s breasts start to sag, thus losing their youthful shape and firmness.
Breast Lift is a surgical procedure which helps improve the looks of your breasts, making them look younger, perkier, more attractive, and balanced by adjusting their position on your chest wall. It also repositions sagging or low-lying areolas and nipples to a more central position, higher up on the breasts.

Effect of Breast Lift on Pregnancy and Breast Feeding
Pregnancy has a variable effect on the shape and function of the breasts, in each person.
During pregnancy and the breastfeeding stage, the breasts enlarge due to milk production, but after this period when the feeding stops, breast size reduces, but the skin does not shrink to the same degree, leading to excess skin. This excess skin is what causes sagging and is best removed with a breast lift surgery.
Due to the changes in breast shape and sizes during further pregnancies, many women prefer to wait till after they have completed their families and nursing so that a much more long-lasting result is acheived with the breast lift surgery.

Preparation
Once you have chosen to go ahead with the procedure, Dr Suhas will advise you a few blood tests etc to ensure that you are indeed in good health otherwise.
If you do have medical conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension, Thyroid Problems, Asthma or anything else, Dr Suhas will ensure it is well treated and controlled before the procedure.
On the day of procedure
Dr Suhas will see you before the procedure for marking the areas of the liposuction.

- Should not be pregnant at the time of planned procedure.
Techniques of Breast Lift in Dubai
There are 2 main techniques of doing Breast Lift
1. Vertical Breast Lift (Lollipop) – similar to a vertical breast reduction wherein the final scar goes around the areola and a small vertical line below it like a lollipop. Once it heals, it will be quite inconspicuous .
2. Periareolar – this has only the scar around the areola without the vertical line. It can be done for mild lifts.

Recovery
- You will be able to walk shortly after your surgery, once the anaesthesia has worn off.
- Immediately after the surgery, your breasts will be bandaged, and you will also be given a special bra that will help reduce the swelling, while also offering support to the breasts.
- 1-2 days post surgery, there maybe mild discomfort, which will easily be controlled with a pain medication.
- You will also be prescribed some antibiotics to prevent infection.
- Most patients can resume desk work after 3-4 days with minimum discomfort.
- You will need to visit Dr Suhas a couple of times to ensure your recovery is on the right path.
- Usually women require a week or so to get back to normal work. Walking indoors is recommended, but for harder exercise schedules like aerobics, a few more days are needed. Carrying heavy loads is not advisable during the first 10 – 14 days.
- It is advisable to take a week off from work – which usually suffices for most women.
- Gradually as the swelling subsides and the breast settles on the chest, your final result will start showing up after a couple of months.
